Gold Medal - McLaren Vale Wine Show
"Planted in 1967. Shallow topsoil over limestone. After tasting other shiraz wines at this price point, this one stands out like a lightning rod of energy. A thrum of saline acidity with pithy fresh fruit accents and finely boned tannins, precise and convincing. This is a rich wine, to be sure. Yet the blood plum, anise, clove, nori and pepper grind take on a fresher dimension than most shiraz in these parts. A very good, warm-climate wine. Drink or hold. 93 points"

"Lifted bouquet of ripe red plum, hint of blueberry and dried herbs. Well structured and contained with chocolate tannins, leading to a long blue-fruit-tinged finish. 93 points"
Andrew Caillard MW, The Vintage Journal
"Deep, dark red-purple colour, with a sump-oil, linseed and bitter chocolate, earthy/graphite nuances and firm tannins that linger. A solid South Australian style shiraz. It has richness, grip and density, and would cellar well. 91 points"
