This wine is a co-ferment of grenache from our hilltop vineyard planted in 2010 and shiraz from our Pettigala vineyard planted in 1967. Both sites lie on the iron rich soils of the Coriole hillside. A glossy and fragrant wine of substance and persistence.
"Varieties interlock neatly here across flavours of cherry, both red and black, ripe raspberry, cassia, mint, musk, cinnamon and anise, the palate marked by a supple, expansive texture and fruit weight while not feeling heady or rich, chalky, finely pithy tannins and a fine acid line an apt foil. This amplifies with air substantially, the heady perfume of the grenache intoxicating. 95 points"

"The wines from this consistently impressive producer have seldom been better. The 2022 is a great vintage delivering excellent raw material. Aromas of violets, cola, dark cherries and salty iodine. Full-bodied with a reductive clench to the mid-palate, conferring tension. Nothing excessive. Good crunchy length. Drink or hold. 92 points"
