Coriole's fruit is sourced from some of the oldest producing sangiovese vines in Australia.
So well suited to the McLaren Vale region, and over 40 years of experimenting with sites, clones and rootstocks has led to this sangiovese being an Australian benchmark.
Harvested from our 12 blocks across our four McLaren Vale vineyards it is interesting to see the site and clonal variations. The blending is done in the vineyard to create the optimum expression of McLaren Vale sangiovese.
"Bright, cherry red and vivid in the glass. Pretty aromas of sour cherry, redcurrant, dried flowers, briar, wet earth and spice. Lively, crunchy and red and blue fruit driven. There’s some textured and chalky tannins delivering shape and mouth-feel and the acidity has plenty of ping and zip. This has real purity and varietal typicity and importantly, real drinkability. 92 points"

”Always a very nice wine, and great value too. Cherry, almond, aniseed, a smattering of dried herbs, maybe lavender. It’s medium-bodied, kind of juicy, kind of savoury, there’s some strawberry in with cherry, some grainy grip to tannin, slightly ferrous, gently bitter with amaro, and the finish is fresh and pretty long. It’s maybe a little more crunchy and herbal than some vintages, and yet, it still lays on the charm. Nice. I do like a wine that doesn’t try too hard to be anything other than a great drink. 92 points"
